Valter Ever was an Estonian track and field athlete who competed across several disciplines, winning multiple national titles. Between 1919 to 1923 Ever won two national titles in the pole vault and two titles in the triple jump. In 1923 he set the Estonian record in the pole vault, followed by a national record in the high jump the following year.
At the 1924 Paris Olympics Ever competed in the high jump, pole vault, long jump, and the decathlon, with a best finish of joint-15th place in both the high jump and the pole vault. The same year he won gold in the high jump, pole vault, and long jump at the Warszawa Student Sports Games. He also won silver in the triple jump, pentathlon, and the 4 x 100 metres relay.
Following his athletics career Ever worked for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Tallinn. In 1944 he left Estonia to live in Sweden where he worked in Stockholm as a barrister and legal advisor. Ever died in Stockholm in 1981 and was later reburied in the Siselinna cemetery in Tallinn.
