Biography

Armas Kinnunen was a Finnish track and field athlete who competed in middle and long-distance races. At the national championships Kinnunen won four titles during his career with victory in the 1,500 metres (1926–27), 3,000 metres steeplechase (1927), and as part of the quartet in the 4 x 1,500 metres relay (1931). In 1927 he set a Finnish record in the 800 metres when he ran 1:56.1 seconds. Kinnunen ran in the 1,500 metres and the 5,000 metres at the 1928 Amsterdam Olympics, finishing in sixth place in the latter.

Personal Bests: 1500 – 3:58.3 (1927); 5000 – 14:48.9 (1926).
