Biography

Finnish hurdler Jukka Matilainen represented Iisalmen Visa and won multiple medals at the national championships. Matilainen won his first medal at the Finnish championships in 1926 with bronze in the 400 metres hurdles. He then won silver in the event in 1927 and 1928, before becoming the national champion in 1929. Matilainen ran in the 400 metres hurdles at the 1928 Amsterdam Olympics but did not advance from the heats. His brothers Kalle and Martti also competed at the Olympics.

Personal Best: 400H - 55.1 (1928).
