Biography

Finland’s Olavi Rissanen was a middle and long-distance runner who represented Kuopion Reipas in Kuopio. At the national championships he won three medals in the 1,500 metres, with silver in 1920, gold in 1923, and bronze in 1924. Rissanen ran in the 3,000 metres steeplechase at the 1920 Antwerpen Olympics, finishing third in his heat, but not taking to the start line for the final.
