Aki Tammisto was a Finnish track and field athlete who specialised as a sprinter. Tammisto was the national champion in the 100 metres (1936–38), 200 metres (1936–40), and the 400 metres (1937, 1939). He ran in the 200 metres at the 1936 Berlin Olympics where he reached the quarter-finals. He was also part of the Finnish quartet that ran in the 4 x 100 metres relay in Berlin. Two years after the Olympics he finished fifth in the 400 metres at the 1938 European Championships in Paris. After his athletics career Tammisto worked as a sports journalist for the Finnish newspaper Turun Sanomat.
