French track and field athlete Marguerite Nicolas represented Paris UC where she specialised in the high jump. Nicolas dominated in the event just before World War II, winning four consecutive French titles from 1935 to 1938. At the 1936 Berlin Olympics she tied for fourth with German athlete Dora Ratjen, setting a French record in the process.
