Robert Bart was France’s national champion in the 400 m hurdles event in 1952 and 1954, and held the French record in the 4×400 m relay. At the Olympics, he made the relay final with the French team, and he also competed at the 1954 European Championships in Bern. From 1988 to 1992, he was president of GIFA, an organization for former French national team athletes.
