While some sources state that Taka N’Gangué was born in either Chad or Congo (Brazzaville), it is likely he was born in Senegal in 1896. N’Gangué later competed in track and field athletics with him going on to represent France. A specialist in the javelin throw he was selected to participate at the 1924 Paris Olympics where he finished tenth. He was in his late-30s when he died just over a decade later in 1935.
