Winner of the AAA 7 mile walk in 1906, Fred Carter also placed second in the event three times (1904, 1908-09). At the 1908 Olympic Games he just missed out on the medals in the 10 mile walk when, in fourth place, he clocked the same time as the bronze medalist, Edward Spencer.
Personal Bests: 7 mile Walk – 53:20.2 (1906); 10 mile Walk – 1-21:20.2 (1908).
