Cecil Kinahan represented Ireland vs. Scotland in the 120y hurdles three times, being the winner in 1909 and placing second in 1908 and 1910. In 1920 he was the Irish AAA champion and the Army champion in 1908 and 1910. Commissioned into the Royal Irish Fusiliers in 1899, he fought in the Boer War and, after being attached to the Egyptian Army in 1910, he was killed in an engagement with the Annaks two years later.
