Biography

Educated at Felsted School and Exeter College, Oxford, William Moore represented Oxford against Cambridge in the mile (1911-13) and cross-country (1910-12), when he was on the winning side all three times. In 1911 he represented Oxford and Cambridge against the combined Universities of Harvard & Yale at Queen’s Club. He was elected honorary secretary of the Oxford University Athletic Club in 1911 and the following year became president. After University, Moore became a Civil Servant and spent time in Nigeria during World War I.
