The son of a Norwegian diplomat and a British mother, John Odde was the Norwegian triple jump champion in 1916 at the age of 17. He later spent some years in England and was a finalist in the triple jump at the AAAs four times (1921-24), winning in 1923. He was also English AAA Champion in 1923. He won the Southern title in 1924.
