Burghild Wieczorek was a long jumper and finished an unfortunate fourth at the 1968 Mexico City Olympics. She also placed fourth at the 1965 European Cup and the 1970 European Indoors. In 1966 she finished ninth at the European Championships. Wieczorek was East German indoor champion in 1965, 1966, and 1970, winning outdoors in 1966. She later became a sports teacher.
