Long jumper Heidemarie Wycisk came in seventh at the 1976 Montréal Olympics. She finished eighth at the 1978 Europeans and won a bronze medal at the 1977 European Indoors, placing fifth in 1978. In East Germany she won two indoor titles in 1977-78. Wycisk worked as a skilled data processing worker. Her name was listed in the documents found after reunification concerning systematic doping practices in the former GDR.
