Peter Wallach, an East German sprinter, was a member of the 4x100 mixed German relay at the 1964 Tokyo Olympic Games which did not reach the final. The East German relay had beaten the West German one in the qualifying race for the Olympics. This was Wallach’s only international appearance. He won three East German championships in the sprint relay in 1963, 1964 and 1968. Indoors, he added another relay championship in 1965 in the 2-lap relay. He later started a second career when joining an over-60 relay team in Potsdam. By profession, Wallach was a sports teacher.
