17-years-old Anna Hagemann was the youngest member of the German athletics team at the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin. She was eliminated in the discus throw qualifying and finished last of the 19 participants. Shortly before the Games she set a youth world record with 43.59 metres. She was German champion in 1946; runner-up in 1939-41, 1943 and 1948; and third in 1936-37 and 1942.
