A right winger, Guus Dräger débuted for the Dutch national team while playing for Amsterdam side DWS. World War II severely reduced the number of international matches he could play, which remained at 13 (with 5 goals). His won his last cap in 1948, in which year he also was a non-playing member of the Olympic squad. From 1941 on, Dräger played for Ajax, which he did through 1951. During that period, Ajax claimed the Cup (1943) and the title (1947) one time each. Working for the Heineken brewery off the pitch, Dräger closed out his career with Stormvogels, although he remained active for lower level amateur clubs. In the 1960s, he also coached Bussum FC.
