Biography

Jean-Marie Élise had a brief career as a footballer, playing in the French leagues during the late 1950s and early 1960s. Élise joined RC Lens in 1958, winning the Gambardella Cup in his first year, followed by the Charles Drago Cup in 1959. After playing in 30 matches for the team he joined AS Troyes for the 1961–62 season before retiring. In 1960 he was named in the French squad for the football tournament at the Roma Olympics, but he did not play in any matches.
