Football striker Eugeniusz Faber had a successful club career in both Poland and France, along with representing the Poland national team for a decade. Faber joined the Polish team Ruch Chorzów in 1959 and played for the club until 1971. In that time he scored 104 goals in 284 matches and won two Polish championships (1960, 1967/68). From 1971 to 1975 he played for the French side Rens where he made more than 100 appearances, scoring 44 goals.
In November 1959 Faber made his international début in a 6–2 win against Finland with the match forming part of the qualification path the for the upcoming Roma Olympics. He was named in Poland’s squad for the 1960 Roma Games, but did not play in any matches during the tournament. Poland started their Olympic campaign well with a 6–1 victory against Tunisia, but lost their two other group games and were eliminated. Only a few weeks after the Olympics he scored his first international goal in a 2–2 draw against France. Faber played in 36 matches, scoring 11 goals for Poland, with his last appearance for the team coming in a 2–1 win against the Netherlands in a 1970 FIFA World Cup qualification match in September 1969.
