Attilio Ferraris

Attilio Ferraris was a defender who played mostly in and around Roma in a long career lasting from 1922-44. He primarily played for AS Roma, appearing in 210 matches for them from 1927-34 and the 1938/39 season. He started his career with Fortitudo Roma, and ended it with Elettronica Roma, playing a few other years with Lazio Roma, US Bari, and one year in Sicily with Calcio Catania. Ferraris played for the Azzurri at the 1928 Olympics and the 1934 FIFA World Cup, earning a total of 28 international caps.

Ferraris was known for his wild life, renowned for his gambling, his chain smoking, and was considered a Latin lover. He died when he was only 43-years-old, collapsing while playing in an old-timers games.
