German sprinter Silke Lichtenhagen was a member of the 4x100 metres relay squad that did not finish the heat due to an exchange failure at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. Over the individual 100 metres, she was eliminated in the second round. Her biggest moment came in 1994 when she won 4x100 relay gold at the European Championships. The following year she added a relay bronze at the Worlds. Nationally, she won the 200 indoor title in 1995.
By profession, Lichtenhagen studied business administration and became a global cost and functional controller at a world’s leading manufacturer of high-tech polymer materials.
