With Guo Yingqi, an overseas Chinese from Malaya on the team, Sing Tao won third place in Hong Kong’s Group A league in the 1939-40 season. For many seasons to follow, he joined the Kitchee SC. Guo was able to play center and inside forward positions as well as halfback. He was the top scorer of the Hong Kong league in the 1947-48 season, when Kitchee took the title. Unfortunately, he used to argue with his teammates, which made him difficult to play with. In some of the 22 matches he played during the tour of the Chinese football team to the 1948 London Olympics, Guo did not seem to be in his best shape and was not fielded in China’s only match at the Olympics.
