Biography

Long-distance runner Kerstin Preßler came in 21st at the 1988 Seoul Olympics in the marathon, placing fifth that year at the New York City Marathon. In 1990 she won both the Houston and Frankfurt Marathons. At the 1992 Barcelona Olympics she started in the 10K but was eliminated in the heats. The same year she ran her personal best with 2-29:40 at the Los Angeles Marathon, finishing third.

At the 1987 World Championships Preßler finished 10th in the 10K. In 1990 she earned a bronze medal in the 15 km and one year later a gold medal. Domestically she won seven (West) German titles.

Personal Bests: 10000 – 31:55.51 (1990); Mar – 2-29:40 (1992).
