Mario Nicolini was a winger and striker, who played only 21 matches in the Italian First Division, all with FC Modena from 1930-32, scoring one goal. After these three seasons he played for other clubs, but never again in the top division, such as Taranto, Catania, Livorno, Pisa and Pontedera, with the last three clubs all in the Tuscany region in central Italy. After World War II Nicolini coached AC Pisa and AC Montevecchio until 1964.
