Arturo Nourdin had a brief but successful domestic football career after World War II, playing for the amateur Deportes Naval de Talcahuano club from 1949 through 1954 and helping them win Chile’s Campeonato Regional de Fútbol five times (1949 and 1951-1954). In 1952 he was selected to represent his country at that year’s Summer Olympics in Helsinki. As Chile was eliminated in the qualifying rounds by Egypt, however, Nourdin never got an opportunity to play in any Olympic matches. He gave up football at the age of 27 and spent over thirty years working at the Chilean Naval base in Talcahuano, until his retirement in the late 1980s.
