Biography
Sprinter Ulrike Sarvari came in fourth with the sprint relay at the 1988 Seoul Olympics but failed to get past the semis of the 100. She participated in the 1987 World Championships (fifth in 4x100 relay), the 1986 Europeans (second round in the 100), and the 1990 Europeans (silver with the relay). Indoors she had her greatest sporting moments, winning two gold medals in the 60 and 200 metres at the 1990 Europeans. She won 10 outdoor and 10 indoor national titles.
Her parents were also sprinters. Her mother Waltraud Groß was German Champion with the sprint relay in 1960, and her father Michael Sarvari had personal bests over 100 metres with 10.7 and over 200 with 21.9. Together with her husband Ulrike Sarvari owned a retail company for furniture and textile design.
