Shot putter and part-time discus thrower Stephanie Storp was a two-time Olympian, finishing seventh at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics and sixth four years later in Atlanta. She also participated in five World Championships from 1987-97, winning the bronze medal in 1997 as her best result. She competed in the European Championships in 1986, 1990, 1994 and at the World Indoors in 1993, winning silver. She won gold at the 1989 European Indoors. Domestically Storp won the 1994 German title in shot put, making the podium consecutively in 1986-98.
From 1999-2001 Storp played basketball with regional club Spvgg Halchter/Linden and reached the German Female Bundesliga. In 2001 she retired from high-performance sports due to several injuries. She was awarded the Richard Schauffele Memorial Award in 1989.
