Sprinter Christina Sussiek won a bronze medal with the 4x400 relay at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics. She was also a long jumper and participated in this event, but with three fouls at the 1983 Worlds. At the 1981 European Cup Sussiek finished fourth in the long jump, while at the 1983 European Indoors she won the bronze medal in the 200 metres.
Domestically Sussiek won West German titles in long jump and with the sprint relay in 1981 and 1983, and in the 200 in 1982. She also added seven indoor titles in different events. Sussiek was also a member of four world record relays in the 1980s. By profession, she was trained as a sports teacher.
