Israeli football goalkeeper Josef Sorinov played for several domestic clubs during a career that spanned 14 years from 1964 to 1978. Sorinov first played for Beitar Tel Aviv before joining Maccabi Netanya in 1966, with him then spending four seasons with Beitar Jerusalem from 1971 to 1975. With Beitar he set a club record of 928 minutes without conceding a goal, a mark that still stood at the time of his death in February 2019. Sorinov finished his career with stints at Hapoel Ramat Gan and Maccabi Tel-Aviv, winning the double with the latter in the 1976–77 season.
In the 1970s Sorinov made 18 appearances for the Israel national football team with his début coming in a friendly against Italy in February 1971. He then played in multiple international friendly matches during the decade before playing in four 1978 FIFA World Cup qualification matches in early 1977. Sorinov was also part of Israel’s squad for the football tournament at the 1976 Montréal Olympics, but he did not play in any matches at the Games.
