Biography

Gyula Tóth came from Székesfehérvár to Budapest in 1922 and transferred to KAOE. In the same year he was selected for the Hungarian national team, which aroused great discussion because it was very rare for someone from a minor club to play on the national team. Between 1922 and 1924 he was capped five times. Tóth was selected for 1924 Paris Olympics, but did not play in the tournament.

Tóth later suffered a severe knee injury. In 1926, in the time of professionalism, he still tried to play with Erzsébet TC and Nemzeti, but had to stop because of his injury. He died after a serious illness at the age of 35.
