Biography

Birgit Wolf was a German sprinter and hurdler who was eliminated in the second round of the 100 metres hurdles at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. That same year she won the German nationals. Wolf later owned an athletics school at Sindelfingen.

In 1997, Wolf was suspected of doping when she made it public on the German TV channel ZDF that the Freiburg professor Armin Klümper administered her the growth hormone Genotropin between 1994-96 without her knowledge. The public prosecutor’s office in Freiburg investigated Klümper for intentional bodily harm, but dropped the proceedings, although he had demonstrably procured Genotropin with funds from the Federal Ministry of the Interior.

Personal Best: 100H – 12.96 (1996).
