Viciani played only 79 matches in Serie A and had no international caps, serving only as a substitute at the 1952 Helsinki Olympics. However, he was considered a revolutionary for his novel tactics in the early 1970s while coaching AC Ternana. His motto was Brasilian football with English speed, similar to the total football of the Netherlands in that era.
