Anita Wörner

Middle-distance runner Anita Wörner competed at the 1964 Tokyo Olympics in the 800, reaching the second round. She also started at the 1962 and 1966 Europeans with limited success. At the 1967 European Cup she came in fourth. Nationally Wörner won four outdoor and three indoor titles at different distances. In 1962, she set an indoor world record over 880 yards with 2:15.5 and one year later over 800 metres with 2:10.9. In 1967, she was a member of the world record relay in the 3x800 with 6:21.0.

Wörner married Helmut Rottmüller in 1967, and their daughter Jutta became a javelin thrower. Anita Wörner owned a sporting goods store in Neuhofen together with her husband and was an administrative secretary.
