Hans Wentorf spent his youth with TV Eimsbüttel. He then moved to FC Altona 93 in the early 1920s. Wentorf received his first nomination for the national team in the spring of 1928. He was named to the 1928 Olympic squad, but did not play in Amsterdam. He played his second and last international match in September 1928 against Denmark. After World War II, Wentorf worked as a technician at the harbor of Hamburg.
