Sprinter Holger Blume, twin brother of Marc Blume, was part of the German 4x100 metres squad at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics that did not finish their semi-final. Holger won nine relay national titles along with his twin as members of the TV Wattenscheid club. He also won the individual 100 metres national title in 1999, and the 200 indoor titles in 2000 and 2001.
