John Mascarenhas attended St. Xavier’s College where he earned a double blue, in hockey and football. He was a left winger in both sports. Mascarenhas played for Burmah-Shell in the late 1950s, coached by well known Olympian Walter de Sousa, and was the lone Mumbai player on the Indian team at the 1960 Olympics.
