Willi Boltze was eliminated in the 5,000 metres heats at the 1928 Amsterdam Olympics. He won four German titles, the 4×1500 metres relay (with DSV 1878 Hannover) in 1930, individual 5000 (1928), 1500 metres (1927), and 3×1000 relay (with SC Preußen Stettin) in 1926. In addition, Boltze added two silver and five bronze national championship medals. By profession he was a merchant. Boltze committed suicide in 1937 for no apparent reason.
