Biography

A triple jumper, Peter Bouschen was in the finals of the 1983 and 1987 World Championships (ninth and seventh respectively) and placed fifth at the 1984 Olympics. He failed to get past qualifying at the 1986 European Championships and took part in three European Cups: 1981 (sixth), winner in 1983 and third in 1987, and he placed fourth at the 1981 European Indoor Championships. Nationally he won titles in 1981, 1983, 1986, 1987, and an indoor title in 1987. His cousin Wolfgang Dittrich was several times the best German performer at the Iron Man Triathlon in Hawai’i and in 1993 became the first German to stand on the podium at Kona, placing third.
