Artur Bäumle placed ninth in the long jump at the 1936 Olympic Games. He is missing in action in World War II since 6 January 1943 in Stalingrad (Volgograd nowadays). The district court at Heilbronn declared him deceased in 1953 and set his death date to 31 December 1945. Today, he is immortalized on a commemorative dice at Rososhka in Russia.
