Despite playing for the South in two international trial matches at Milwall and Chelsea in 1911 and 1912, Charles Bradley never gained international honours but was one of the non-playing reserves for the Great Britain side at the 1912 Olympics. He did win county honours with Essex and helped them to reach the Southern Counties Amateur Championship final in 1911. A full-back, he had been captain of Leytonstone before he moved to Barking at the start of the 1911-12 season.
