Fritz Heer

Fritz Heer was nominated for the 1980 Moscow Games but did not compete due to the US-led boycott. In 1988 at Seoul he took part in the sprint relay which placed sixth together with Christian Haas, Peter Klein, and Dirk Schweisfurth. Together with Haas, Norbert Dobeleit and non-Olympian Volker Westhagemann, Heer placed fifth at the 1987 World Championships. He also took part at the European Cup in 1979, 1985, and 1987 with the sprint relay, and in 1979 also competed in the 100 metres, placing sixth. That year he also earned the West German title in the 100 m, after winning West German titles in 1986-87 and 1989 in the sprint relay, and indoors in the 4x200 in 1988-89.

Heer later earned an MBA degree and became treasurer of the Märkischer Kreis (district Arnsberg), and also CEO of the Märkische Kommunale Wirtschafts GmbH (municipal asset managing company).
