Rudi Lüttge was a race walker who finished 13th in the 50 km at the 1952 Helsinki Olympic Games in his only international competition, besides eight international dual meets. His greatest moment came in 1948 when he bettered the world record in the 30 km walk, but this mark was not accepted by the IAAF as West Germany was not yet an IAAF member. Domestically Lüttge won 16 West German titles. He was educated as a metal construction engineer.
