High jumper Peter Riebensahm won his only West German title indoors in 1962. He competed at the 1960 Roma Olympics but failed to reach the final. In 1961, he was the first German high jumper to better 2.10 metres. In 1983 Riebensahm was awarded the DLV needle in silver.
