Policeman Martin Strege was a German steeplechase- and marathon-runner who finished tenth in the 3,000 metres steeplechase at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. In 1990, 1994, and 1998 he became European police steeplechase champion, and was the German champion in 1994 and 1995. He also participated in several city marathons.
