Max Tarnogrocki, whose real name was Friedrich Wilhelm, was an 800 runner who competed at the 1928 Amsterdam Olympics, but was eliminated in the heats. The same year he was runner-up at the German Championships. In 1925 he was German champion with the 3x1,000 relay. By profession he was a lawyer, economist and tax accountant.
