Charalampos Zouras

Greek physician Charalampos Zouras competed in throwing events in track and field athletics, specialising in the javelin. Representing the Panhellenic Gymnastics Association, Zouras was a national champion in the discus and pentathlon. At the 1908 London Olympics he competed in the two javelin events, the standard throw and the freestyle, with the athlete allowed to grip the javelin anywhere they wished in the latter. Zouras finished in fourth place in the freestyle event with a throw of 48.61 metres. His throw in the standard discipline was not recorded.

Shortly after the Olympics Zouras competed at the 1908 Pan-European Games in Paris and won the javelin competition. In 1908 and 1909 he was the Panhellenic Champion in the javelin and went on to win a third title in 1912. At the 1910 Greek-Egyptian Games in Alexandria Zouras once again came in first place in the javelin throw, and two years later he was first in the discus.
