Biography

István Drubina participated in the 1908 Olympics as a member of the BTC Budapest team. Unfortunately he arrived in London on the day of the 3,500 metres walk and, with little time to prepare, failed to qualify for the final. A multiple Hungarian champion in walking disciplines, Drubina was a member of FTC Budapest in 1912 when he made his own way to the Stockholm Olympics, and at his own expense. Shortly afterwards, he retired from competitive sport and became an active member of the Hungarian Athletics Association, and also worked as a judge and referee. By profession, Drubina was a technical inspector for the Hungarian Railway (MÁV).

Personal Bests: 3kmW – 14:53.2 (1910) 10kmW – 53:26.0 (1906).
