Biography

Géza Fejér started his athletics career in 1961 at the Budapesti Honvéd. Fejér competed in all throwing events, but his most outstanding performance was with the discus. Between 1964 and 1979 he won eight Hungarian championships and broke the national record six times.

Between 1963 and 1977 Fejér competed for the Hungarian national team 41 times. His most significant successes were the bronze medal he won at the 1971 European Championships in Helsinki, and the fifth place he achieved at the München Olympics the following year.

Fejér ended his sports career in 1984 with him later becoming a coach. He was a member of the Hungarian Olympic team in Beijing in 2008 as a coach of Zoltán Kővágó.
