Gyula Gyenes

Starting from 1928 Gyula Gyenes was a sprinter with Magyar Testgyakorlók Köre (MTK) and from 1936 through 1942 he competed in the colors of Magyar Athletic Club. Between 1931 and 1942, he won the Hungarian championship title four times at 100 metres and five times at 200 metres. In 1936 and in 1941, he won the 4x200m relay with the Magyar Athletic Club team. From 1931 to 1942 he was capped 20 times.

As a member of the Hungarian 4 x 100-metre relay, Gyenes won a silver medal at the European Championships in 1934. At the 1936 Berlin Olympics, he reached the quarterfinals in both the 100 and 200 metres and ran the 4x100 relay, which did not qualify for the final. In 1938, he placed fifth in the 200 at the European Championships.
