József Haluzsinszky was born in Subcarpathia, and went to secondary school in Munkács. A high jumper, he competed for a number of clubs, but at the 1908 Olympics was a member of Köbányai TE. There, to his misfortune, he had to compete in a part of the White City stadium where the track was slippery, was injured while making a jump, and only cleared 1.72, which did not qualify. Haluzsinszky later played football for Komáromi FC. He then took a position with the Komárom-Esztergom County Sports Council.
